Attactive village right on the edge of the national park (the boundary runs through the village!), dominated somewhat by the main Scarborough to Whitby road, which runs through the village.
Close to the village is the quarry used to provide the stone for Scarborough Castle.
Cloughton would make a good base for exploring the coastline.
Four miles north of Scarborough on the A171.
Cloughton Wyke, a rocky inlet, is only one mile to the east.
